The power to Visualise: What do we see ? (Pt 1)

Vision is essentially tied to the power of sight , namely our ability to see things clearly and recognise them for what they truly are . As with virtually everything on the earth , there is a probability of a negative existing . The obvious opposite or negation to sight/vision is blindness albeit partial or total .

The issues at hand are

(i) What do we see ?

(ii) Do we see it clearly ?

(iii) Do we recognize it for what it is?

(iv) How do we exact utility from it ?

(v) How do we put it to good use?

(vi) How do we manage our dreams and ideals alongside present realities?

Let’s start with what we see . Asking the average citizen what they see , chances are you’ll most likely get discouraging results or responses . We have got to go beyond being less concerned . We must take things serious and it begins with looking at our immediate environment and seeing what is actually there . Recognise things for what they actually are .

On seeing clearly , we must be able to define happenings and trends accurately and accordingly . We must ensure that we have a good understanding of trends and happenings , appreciating their value . To do this , we must understand the specific effects of the removal or inclusion of certain phenomena in the mix of things , especially those staring us in the face . As Einstein puts it , problems encountered at a level of thought can not be overcome at that same level of thought . How much thought have we given to the peculiarity of our situation ?

On recognizing things for what they are , we need to be able , without all certainty , to say , this is why we should put a stop to such and such , encourage x,y,z and the like . If we have devoted a little of our time to thinking on how to overcome our problems , even if we don’t have the answers , we will know what our problems are and what they are not.

Learning how to exact utility from any prevalent circumstance or condition will serve to empower the individuals who have taken the pains to do so . Picture the biblical situation of Isaac , who in the midst of famine , sowed and reaped a hundredfold . Let us not get any misconceptions , Isaac must have laboured like crazy ( If any of you has tended a garden before , you’ll get the idea ) , but his effort was rewarded .

The above is clearly the reason why certain people seem to always do well , regardless of what is thrown at them . Despite the meltdown , people are making millions daily . It is more than jst a mindset , it is a way of life . If we position ourselves to derive utility from every singular situation , circumstance and relationship , focusing on win-win scenarios , think of how much more fun life will be . If everyone were to have that mindset or vision , wrongdoings will drop to an all-time low .

Vision also has to do with goals and achievement . Seeing the most that can be made from any situation is important . If we can see situations clearly , with a little more thought we should be able to arrive at better outcomes . This is not to say that our outcomes are entirely a product of our thoughts , but they are to a large extent inclusive factors .
